With full, frilly, double blooms, this spring flowering hybrid has the most appropriate name imaginable, as it is said to be the most scented Camellia you'll find on the market. In January, as the plump buds open to reveal their treasure, the clouds of sumptuous, sweet scent will tempt you outside to investigate further. Nestling against dark, evergreen foliage, the blooms continue through until March or April, providing your springtime pollinators with a nutritious nectar-rich banquet. Making excellent cut flowers, lasting well in a vase, you can enjoy the palatial perfume indoors too. When mature, Camellia 'High Fragrance' will grow to a height and spread of up to 2m, preferring to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade. With an RHS rating of H5, it will not require any winter protection unless the temperature dips below -15 C.
