This sought after Cosmic Camassia Collection appears to be shooting for the stars with tall rocket-shaped spires of starry blooms. Definitely one to be noticed as flowers can reach up to 1.2m high! A perfectly co-ordinated trio to be planted together as a blend of rich and pale blues along with creamy, lime white. The Cosmic Camassia Collection comprises: Camassia Quamash - which excels as a cut flower with a long vase life and an enticing, electric blue colour; Camassia leichtlinii 'Alba' - with creamy white star-shaped flowers that form a loose pyramid on stems up to 1.2m; and Camassia leichtlinii subsp. suksdorfii 'Caerulea' with clusters of lavender-blue, star-shaped flowers. Blooms appear from April to June and are held on tall stems which emerge from thick clumps of strap-shaped, green foliage held March through to August.Prefers a site with a moist, free-draining soil and a south, east or west facing aspect. Will tolerate most conditions, however. Needs sun for at least part of the day in order to thrive and is a hardy (H4), bulbous perennial. Will naturalise in the right conditions.
