Prepare to be astounded at the sheer number of blooms produced, as Calibrachoa ‘Calita Double Sun’ shines out from your baskets, containers and window boxes. Hundreds of small, double, almost frilly blooms are produced in abundance from June to October, over evergreen foliage. Being self-cleaning, there is no fiddly and time-consuming deadheading required, they simply fall to the ground once spent to be easily and quickly picked up. Calibrachoa ‘Calita Double Sun’ prefers to be grown in moist but well-draining loam or sand-based soil in a sunny position, with a south or west facing aspect. Reaching a height and spread of around 30cm, this tender perennial is usually treated as an annual in the UK, but container grown plants may be overwintered in a frost-free environment such as a conservatory or greenhouse, to be enjoyed in subsequent years.
