Tell Me More...
Hundreds of blooms in bright red shades, to cascade and trail from pots and baskets from June, throughout the summer until October. Each bloom is like a miniature rose with intriguing markings, contrasting against the lush green foliage. ‘Calita’ is a relatively new arrival which has built in extra resistant to wind and rain as well as a beneficial, ‘self-cleaning’ habit. This means spent blooms will simply drop to the ground when spent, without the need for fiddly and time-consuming deadheading – they are then easily swept away, ready to be composted. Plant Calibrachoa ‘Calita Double Red’ in a loam or sand based, well-drained soil, and position in a sunny or partially shaded position, with a south or west facing aspect. Maturing into generous, trailing mounds with a height and spread of 30cm, this tender perennial is often grown as annual summer bedding plant, however, can be overwintered in a warm, frost-free place to enjoy again.
