Tell Me More...
Prepare to be amazed as the foliage of Brunnera macrophylla Looking Glass is almost entirely silvered, like a mirror, with just a few green veins to further accentuate the beauty of this woodland wonder.Dainty sprays of starry, clear blue, forget-me-not-like, funnel-shaped blooms sparkle in spring, followed by dense carpets of attractive, hairy, weed-suppressing groundcover foliage which is evergreen in warmer areas. Also known by the common name Bugloss, which in Greek means 'ox tongue', probably refering to the shape and roughness of the leaves. Looking Glass has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding performance in the garden.Brunera are deer, rabbit and slug resistant, so perfect for your borders and containers.Although Brunnera, thrive in shade, they will also welcome morning sunshine, the patterned foliage performing best in light shade. Requiring cool, moist soil, Brunnera Looking Glass can cope with drier conditions once established, growing to an approximate height and spread of 60cm. It is a fully hardy perennial so you can enjoy it for years to come without the need for winter protection.
