A sumptuous looking petunia which will bring a touch of magic to your planting this season. Petunia hybrida ‘Black Velvet’ blooms emerge in June and last through to October time, bringing tempting shades of purple-black to the garden. Ideal for hanging baskets, patio containers or open ground this is generous plant which has exceptional weather-resistance built in. The astounding petals are the primary feature and have the appearance of luxurious velvet. So much so, they are sure to lure you in so that you can stroke them and check they are real. The open structure of these blooms makes them pollinator friendly, so they are sure to be a hit with local bees and butterflies too. Plant Petunia hybrida ‘Black Velvet’ in a spot where it receives full sun, in a moist, well-drained soil or compost. A tender annual which reaches a height and spread of 30cm.
