Fiery flames of colour from June to October, these Mexican wonders are sure to light up your herbaceous borders, rockeries, baskets and pots with their generous, daisy-like joy. The flowers of Bidens ferulifolia ‘Blazing Glory’ emerge from small button-like buds and are held on strong, slender stems which can be cut for a posy or small vase. The open-faced, pollinator enticing blooms are accompanied by feathery foliage, which emerges earlier in April and is retained until October time. Together the flowers and leaves form large and luscious mounds which will suppress weeds and give curvaceous form to your planting, reaching up to 30cm tall and spreading to around 50cm.
Drought and heat tolerant Bidens ferulifolia ‘Blazing Glory’ has been classified as a half-hardy annual by the RHS so will not tolerate temperatures below -5°C. Plant in well-drained soil of any type which benefits from full sun or partial shade and any aspect other than north-facing.
