Begonia x tuberhybrida Illumination Orange creates an impressive waterfall of bright summer colour for your baskets and containers, brightening up shady spots into the autumn. The Illumination Series are much-loved tuberous perennials, with this variety bringing plentiful, bright orange blousy blooms and very long flowering season from May to October, or the first frosts. So much so that it holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its dependably outstanding performance, bringing you masses of large, blousy blooms to gently cascade down to around 60cm - with good weather and disease resistance built in. Interestingly, both female and male flowers are produced on the same plant, and as with so many species in nature, the males are the more flamboyant. Begonia x tuberhybrida Illumination Orange prefer moist, well-drained soil which is loam or sand based. Plant in full sun or partial shade and plants will reach a height and spread of approximately 40-50cm. Plants will need to be lifted and kept in a dry, frost free environment over winter ready to replant the following spring. Alternatively, treat as annuals.
