As this name suggests, solitary bees spend their lives alone, they have no sting, they have no queen to protect them, and they do not produce honey. As a result they are the gentlest of creatures with a very important role in nature because these bees are the unsurpassed masters of pollination. (One study in Arkansas in the USA stated these bees are responsible for the pollination of 80% of food crops and flowers in this one US state). Solitary bees need tubes to lay their eggs, to prevent wasps eating the pupae and this is where your Bee Barn comes in.
