Astrantia major ‘Burgundy Manor’, also known as ‘Hattie’s Pincushion’, because of the delicate pincushion flowers, is perfect for growing in a cottage or woodland style garden. As a recipient of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit for great garden performance, you will not be disappointed.Astrantia major ‘Burgundy Manor’ is a clump forming perennial, classed as fully hardy and will bloom from June through to August. Preferring moist, fertile soil in sun or partial shade, they will tolerate drier areas if given a layer of mulch. Growing to a height of 75cm and spread of 50cm, astrantia will attract bees, pollinators, and wildlife all summer and the flowers are perfect for cutting. A beautiful addition to borders and pots and ideal for growing under shrubs, cut back after flowering for a late crop of foliage and flowers. Completely dying back in the autumn, fresh new growth will appear in the spring.
