Easy to grow and cook, asparagus is considered one of the most desirable 'superfood' vegetables to plant - an excellent source of fibre, folates, essential vitamins, and antioxidants. Plant Asparagus officinalis 'Vittorio' bare-root crowns in spring into well-prepared and well-drained beds which benefit from full sun. Allow asparagus to establish into strong plants during the first year or two before cutting spears for the kitchen. Subsequent early summer harvests will be well worth the wait.
