Lavandula is both heat and drought tolerant in accordance with its original Mediterranean climate. All the varieties in this collection are English Lavender and hardy enough to withstand UK frosts. The fragrance will fill the air while attracting bees and other pollinators for their bounty. Mix them up, pot them up or plant them in formal rows – whichever you choose they are eternally pleasing to the senses, and often used to make oils, perfumes, sachets or as a fragrant floral arrangement for your home. The genus name is derived from the Latin word meaning wash, ‘Lavare’, as it was often used when bathing, cleaning or in laundry. Collection comprises: angustifolia ‘Arctic Snow’, height and spread 50cm; AGM award-winning angustifolia ‘Hidcote’, height 60cm, spread 75cm; and angustifolia ‘Rosea’, height and spread 70cm. The Aromatic Lavandula Collection is happy in any aspect apart from north facing, preferring to be situated a site in full sun which benefits from well-drained soil.
