Tell Me More...
For five months of the year, soft, candyfloss pink blooms with a central ring of red cover Argyranthemum frutescens ‘Grandaisy Pink Halo’. A member of the spectacular ‘Grandaisy’ series, this neat, bushy plant has an exceptionally free flowering habit, whilst demanding very little care from you in return. The result of a recent cross between the argyranthemum and chrysanthemum, the ‘Grandaisy’ series is notable for its extra-large flowers, up to 6cm across, which are borne in profusion over a long period. Selectively developed to be vigorous, strong and with good weather resistance, these plants are a reliable choice for our unpredictable UK climate. So dependable and beautiful are these blooms that the RHS has given this variety their Award of Garden Merit. Argyranthemum frutescens ‘Grandaisy Pink Halo’ prefers well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay and a position in full sun with a south or east facing aspect, where plants will reach a height and spread of up to 50cm. Tender, evergreen, sub-shrubs which are often grown as annuals, plants can be container grown and overwintered indoors for continued perennial growth (a cool greenhouse or conservatory is ideal).
