The ’Architectural Aconitum’ collection brings spires of sculptured hooded blooms, hence the common name ‘Monkshood’. A European native which was frequently associated with invisibility and protection. A valuable plant for florists, adding long-lasting, unusual flower shapes to arrangements. This collection comprises; ‘Purple Sparrow’ - a petite variety of enchanting purple and white blooms, height 45-60cm, spread 50cm; carmichaelii ‘Pershore Abbey’ - a new addition to the family, named after the famous Worcestershire landmark, tall stems hold unusual, vibrant blue blooms, height 90cm, spread 40cm; and x cammarum ‘Bicolor’ - racemes of unusual white flowers, each petal edged with dark purple markings on tall stems to a height of 1.2m, spreading to 40cm. The ’Architectural Aconitum’ collection prefers to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or shade. Fully hardy and hardy, herbaceous perennials, which die back over winter, resprouting again in the following spring. Caution, we recommend wearing gloves when handling but with just a little caution you will be rewarded with plentiful and interesting colour in your borders and containers.
