Antennaria dioica Alba, with distinctive, silver-grey, spoon-shaped leaves and white undersides, is the perfect alpine for the edge of borders. Known as Pussy Toes, stunning, 'woolly' evergreen rosettes form an attractive weed-suppressing carpet, a fascinating favourite for a hot sunny spot, whether you are a fan of felines or not.Antennaria Alba looks great in your borders and containers all year round. In late spring and early summer masses of short stems rise, each holding a cluster of small, pink, fluffy-looking flowers in the shape of a cat's paw, hence the common names Pink Pussy Toes or Cat's Foot. You will have butterflies dancing around your garden. Fascinating, fluffy seed heads follow. Antennaria Rubra is the perfect perennial for rockeries, gravel gardens, containers or to fill gaps between slabs, growing almost anywhere but preferring poor, dry soil in sun. Reaching an overall height of 10cm and spreading up to 45cm, Antennaria are fast growing and fully hardy so will not require any winter protection.
