Tell Me More...
A relative of Anemone sylvestris, Anemone x lesseri 'Spring Beauty White' is a wonderful new variety of windflower. Unlike others in the family, it flowers in spring and early summer, not in the autumn and is shorter in stature than its cousins, so better able to cope in more exposed sites. An adaptable version of this cottage garden classic which will quickly establish itself, bearing pure white, simple, 5-petalled blooms from May to August. Held on long, strong stems, the blooms are wonderful for cutting to add joy to vases and bouquets. The open flowers are ideal for pulling in the pollinators and will gently naturalise for an abundance of blooms and great groundcover. Anemone x lesseri 'Spring Beauty White' is a fully hardy perennial which will happily grow in pots, as well as herbaceous borders and is drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be grown in a site with either full or partial shade in rich, moist, well-drained soil where it will reach a height of 25-45cm and spread of 30-45cm.
