Tell Me More...
Anemone Prince Henry is also known as its German equivalent, Prinz Heinrich. This Japanese Anemone has shorter stalks but produces masses of long-lasting, double-petalled, candy pink blooms with a golden yellow centre. The blooms wave gracefully on wiry stems over dark green foliage which contrasts the bright colour of the flowers perfectly. Ideal for cottage gardens. Named for the Greek meaning 'daughter of the wind' Anemones are also known as Windflower. Anemone Prince Henry is perfect for cut flowers and is long-lasting in a vase. The plant grows up to 70cm (28") tall and can spread equally as wide if left to self-seed. This is a perfect bloom to attract pollinators to your garden. Plant in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or part-shade. This Anemone prefers some wind protection. Mulching in winter will help retain moisture. Flowers July - September. When flowers fade, cut back and tidy dead leaves.
