Long-flowering, elegant, billowing This exciting new Anemone hybrid 'Ruffled Swan' is a taller, more vigorous, and, crucially, a semi-double version of 'White Swan', winner of the 2011 Chelsea New Plant of the Year. Flowers are white with pale, lilac-blue backs. Thought to be a cross between spring flowering (A. rupicola) and autumn flowering (A. hupehensis) anemones, members of the 'Swan' range flower intermittently from May to November. Not to be confused with relatives the Japanese anemones, these are altogether different plants; delicate, compact, and well behaved, forming neat, tight mounds of vine-shaped foliage. Ideal for woodland gardens or the front of a partially shaded border. Prefer moist, fertile, humus-rich soil in partial shade. Full sun will be tolerated if soil is kept moist. Avoid excessive winter wet. H&S: 90cm x 90cm. Hardy perennials.
