Introduced in 2020, Anemone Frilly Knickers is a new addition to the family and with her romantic blooms and neat compact habit has become a firm favourite. In summer, fully plump buds burst open to reveal frilly, semi-double blooms with crisp white, ruffled petals, each one lightly violet tinted as they surround a centre of bright yellow stamen. Held high above the maple-like foliage flower from May until October, intriguingly, each petal is flushed a darker violet on the revers. Loved by bees and butterflies, who will visit to investigate the nectar and pollen rich blooms. Anemone Frilly Knickers is a well behaved relative of the Japanese anemone, terrific for both borders and containers. Happy in most soils, she prefers to be in part shade. Growing to a height of 60cm and spreading to around 45cm. A fully hardy perennial which will flourish outside all year round with no winter protection required.
