Many vibrant, ruffled, violet petals form semi-double blooms with very dark centres are held on wiry stems in late spring and early summer. Held above carpets of finely, almost ferny foliage, The Admiral is perfect for the front of your borders, or in containers on your patio.It is easy to see why this Mediterranean beauty is also known as the Poppy Anemone.Anemones are easy to maintain as long as they are planted in well-drained but moist soil. They enjoy full sun and prefer to be sheltered from wind. The corms naturalise easily and create drifts of colour for years to come.
