Tell Me More...
Anemone coronaria Blanda White Splendour is a white daisy-like anemone that has won a Garden of Merit RHS award. Anemone means "daughter of the wind" in Greek and anemones are also known as windflowers. White Splendour reach white petals toward the sun which surround a yellow centre. On the underside of the blooms there are delicate pink veins. The corms easily naturalise and create swathes of white flowers. Clumps of this hardy perennial can be divided in autumn. Anemones are planted in June-July to blossom in February-March. They prefer sunny spots and to be planted in well-drained moist soils. Sheltering them from the wind will keep them in tip top condition. The flowers are ideal cut flowers and will make a striking addition to any bouquet. Plant White Splendour in the front or centre of a border or plant as a clump in a container for a beautiful focal point.
