A compact Duchess, Alstroemeria Duchesses d'Anjou ‘Elisabeth’ is a new introduction which is a little more compact, so tends not to flop like other taller varieties. Belonging to the Duchesses d'Anjou series, ‘Elisabeth’ really is Alstroemeria royalty. From June through to October, this medium sized Peruvian Lily produces rosy, vivid pink flowers with dark freckled markings, to catch your attention. A favourite with florists, the abundance of long-lasting blooms makes it a fantastic choice, giving you many stems to cut for your flower arrangements, bringing the warmth and charm of the garden indoors. Loved by bees and pollinators, ‘Elisabeth’ will flower until the first frosts, not fussy on aspect, preferring a site with moist, well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. With a mature height and spread of 50cm, Alstroemeria Duchesses d'Anjou ‘Elisabeth’ is an herbaceous perennial, hardy to around -10°C, and will benefit from being mulched over winter.
