Sure to delight with up to one hundred exotic, lily-like blooms produced on each plant between June and November. Alstroemeria Majestic 'Layon' will dazzle and delight for up to six months of sumptuous colour and marvellous markings adding joy to containers, borders and floral displays. Originating from South America, alstroemeria form fleshy tubers beneath the ground which increase each year to make an impressive clump of attractive foliage which is held from April to November. This provides the perfect base from which many stems rise, producing buds which open to reveal stunning, glamorous, speckled blooms. Easy going and bothered by very few pests, Alstroemeria Majestic 'Layon' needs to be deadheaded in order to encourage more flowers. We recommend you do this by pulling the flower stems gently from the bottom of the plant. The resulting 'wound' then initiates new growth and more flowers. Alstroemeria prefer well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade and 'Layon' will reach a height of up to 90cm with a spread of 50cm. Being a hardy herbaceous perennial, these beauties will die back during winter, to re-emerge the following spring.
