Tell Me More...
Launched by us in 2024 - the showy, funnel-shaped flowers of Alstroemeria Duchesse d’Anjou ‘Emily’ put on a fantastic, floral display from June to October each year. Not only do they add their regal hues to borders and strategically planted containers, they make a marvellous inclusion in floral arrangements – with a vase life of 2-3 weeks! Sought after by florists, alstroemeria represent friendship in the world of flowers, with each petal having a deeper meaning too. A handy hint when picking Alstroemeria Duchesse d’Anjou ‘Emily’ from your own garden is to gently pull, rather than snip, the stems from the base of the plant. By doing this you create a ‘wound’ which prompts the plant to produce even more stems, and more flowers. Furthermore, the fleshy rhizomes form clumps which gradually increase in size each year, reliably producing masses of beautiful blooms and lush foliage for years to come. Plant ‘Emily’ in full sun or partial shade with any well-draining soil. A hardy, herbaceo
