An unusual rose-pink version of this popular garden favourite. Alstroemeria 'Duc d'Anjou Charles' is an elegant, mid-height variety, which is perfect for weaving through a border or making an exotic splash in a container display. The showy, funnel-shaped flowers are streaked with maroon markings and have a subtle, golden yellow band to the throat of its central petals – colouration sure to get them noticed! Alstroemeria hail from South America and can be relied upon to flower long and hard from late spring and early summer right through to October. They make excellent cut flowers and are much-loved by florists for their extravagant appeal, sturdy stems and impressively long vase-life. Our top tip is to pull stems (rather than cut) when harvesting or deadheading. This prompts the plant to produce even more flowering stems for inside and outside your home. Alstroemeria 'Duc d'Anjou Charles' prefers a spot in moist, fertile, well-drained soil of any kind. Position in full sun or partial shade and this hardy herbaceous perennial will mature to a height and spread of 50cm. For best results, apply a dry mulch over winter to protect crowns in colder areas.
