Tell Me More...
Alstroemeria Garden 'Chinon' is an exotic-looking beauty that once established will give you armfuls of cut flowers for your home from June to November. A must for both gardeners and florists with up to 100 blooms on each plant, you will fill your vases from this long flowering, cold resistant Peruvian Lily. Giving your floral creations a touch of the exotic, the stems will last up to 3 weeks. Pick by gently pulling the flowers stems gently from the bottom of the plant, the resulting 'wound' then initiates new flowers.Originating from South Africa, Alstroemeria form fleshy tubers beneath the ground which increase each year to make an impressive clump of attractive foliage. The flowers are most prolific in a sunny position, though Alstroemeria will tolerate some light shade. Plant in well-drained, fertile soil and Alstroemeria Garden 'Chinon' will reach a full height of 50-90cm while spreading 30-50cm. Hardy to -15 C, (RHS hardiness rating H6), winter protection will not be required across most of the country in a usual winter.
