Tell Me More...
Shade-loving, majestic plants which mature into dramatic foliage clumps, held from spring to autumn. Plants in the Alluring Actaea Collection produce tall stems bearing bottlebrush-like flowers, some of which are scented, commencing in August and lasting through to October. Flowers are attractive to butterflies, moths and other pollinators who will be keen to visit for a nectar-rich feast. Additionally, blooms make wonderful inclusions to a vase or floral bouquet where their arching grace will add height and elegance, as well as a subtle, sweet fragrance.Collection comprises: racemosa - an AGM holding variety with green foliage and bright, white blooms (H: 1.5m S: 90cm); simplex 'Brunette' the second AGM holder with dark, almost black, leaves and white flowers which mature to pink (H: 1.2m S: 1m); and simplex 'Pink Spike' - again with dark, rich foliage and unusual pink flowers (H: 1.5m S: 75cm).Plants prefer a site with continually moist, but not waterlogged, soil with some degree of shade. Fully hardy, herbaceous perennials which die back below the ground over winter and return in springtime.
