Allium stipitatum ‘Violet Beauty’ in new to us for 2024 and chosen for the intensity of colour in its 10cm flowerheads which emerge in May and remain until June. After which equally beautiful seedheads are retained to further enhance your planting. Flowers are great for bumble bees and other pollinators and make a wonderful, aromatic inclusion in a vase. Allium stipitatum ‘Violet Beauty’ holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its dependable and outstanding performance in the garden. It prefers a spot in moist, well-drained soil of any kind and is drought tolerant once established. Plant in full sun with any aspect other than north facing. A hardy (H5), bulbous perennial which should not need any additional protection over winter throughout most of the UK.
