Statuesque Allium stipitatum Mount Everest is a tall allium that would complement any mixed border. This ornamental onion's spherical blooms are created from over 50 star-shaped creamy white flowers which could also create an architectural statement as a clump of plants in a container. Tall stems support the spheres of flowers while grey-green foliage is low to the ground. Mount Everest can be grown in full sun. and its beautiful flowers will help to draw pollinators to the garden. Soil types should be well-drained in order for the bulbs to flourish. Alliums are long-lasting cut flowers and can last up to 2 weeks in a vase. This hardy perennial will offer reliable flowering year after year and clumps can be split when flowering is finished if there are too many plants for their spot. Autumn (September-November) is the perfect time to plant allium bulbs for a stunning summer border.
