A relatively new addition to the allium family and a new arrival at Hayloft for 2024. Allium ‘Ambassador’ are impressively generous blooms compiled of masses of tiny, tightly packed starry flowers. Blooms reach up to 18cm across and reach up to 1.2m in height – adding a true architectural impact in borders, rockeries and containers when they flower from June to July. A good repeat bloomer for varieties this size too and fantastic planted ‘en masse’ for maximum impact. Allium have long been the stars of RHS show gardens and this established popularity is not waning yet. Coupled with the fact Allium ‘Ambassador’ has been recognised by the organisation with an Award of Garden Merit, we think this is a ‘must have’ for those of you looking to increase the size of allium in your planting. Flowers also make a beautiful inclusion in a vase – either fresh or as ornamental seed heads. Plant in moist, well-drained soil of any kind and position in full sun for best results. A hardy (H5), bulb
