Alcea rosea ‘Chater's Double Crimson’ is new to us for 2024 and we love the intensity of these frilly blooms, which can be cut for a vase to enjoy indoors too. Flowers emerge in June and last through to September time, opening from the bottom upwards for long-lasting displays. Green foliage emerges earlier in March and is retained until November. Hollyhocks are a frequent inclusion in traditional cottage gardens, with more curated approach they will look fabulous in modern schemes too - and are sure to attract a host of bees and butterflies into your garden.
