Tell Me More...
A new and intriguing groundcover plant which originates from the UK. Ajuga reptans 'Blueberry Muffin' produces masses of densely packed, variegated, glossy foliage which emerges flushed with bronze in spring. From April through to June stems of lavender-blue blooms emerge and reach up to 15cm in height - creating a sea of flowers ideal for pulling in pollinators from far and wide. Blooms will even emerge in shady spots, making this low-growing plant wonderful for suppressing weeds under shrubs and trees as well as perfect for edging beds and pathways. 'Blueberry Muffin' will even happily settle in a container for strategically placing on a shelf or table. As a low-growing perennial Ajuga reptans 'Blueberry Muffin' prefers a spot in moist, well-drained soil of any aspect. Happy in full shade to full sun this versatile, fully hardy perennial spread up to 30-60cm with a gently naturalising habit.
