Tell Me More...
White trumpet-shaped flowers, each blue at the base, are produced in dense, larger than average, round umbels, by this striking Agapanthus 'Queen Mum'. This upright, strong cultivar is perfect for weaving through a mixed border, where it can be used to provide dramatic accents. Alternatively, it makes an excellent container plant, as the restricting of root growth is known to promote increased flowering in all agapanthuses. Planting in a rockery, or in sizeable cracks and crevices can have the same effect. Agapanthus make excellent cut flowers, with an impressive vase-life of up to two weeks. Attractive seedheads give winter interest when left on the plant or can be dried and used in arrangements.Prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. H&S: 1.5m x 50cm. Hardy perennial (to -10 C).
