Particularly striking in borders and containers, Agapanthus 'Northern Star' bears clusters of dark buds, which open to reveal dark blue, trumpet-shaped blooms with purple stripes. An almost spherical orb is formed, held high above the clumps of glossy green foliage, which is tinged purple at the base. Known commonly as the African Lily, Agapanthus blooms make Incredible, long lasting cut flowers, adding a touch of drama and intrigue to your indoor floral creations.Agapanthus 'Northern Star' has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the RHS for outstanding performance in the garden.Reaching a mature height of up to 1m, Agapanthus 'Northern Star' will spread to around 50cm. Rated H4 on the RHS hardiness guide, protection will be needed if temperatures drop below -10 C. Agapanthus are drought tolerant and prefer to be grown in well-drained soil and full sun for the best display.
