Pure white blooms appear for two distinct flowering periodsNewly introduced to these shores, Azalea Encore 'White' is an evergreen azalea belonging to the repeat-flowering Encore series. Developed over thirty years by a breeder in Louisiana, these impressive azaleas were, until recently, not hardy enough to withstand the British winter. Thankfully, recent trials have shown several new selections to be suitable, meaning we can finally offer these unusual shrubs.Azalea Encore 'White' bears glossy, dark green foliage, above which a generous flush of pure-white, trumpet-shaped flowers appears in spring. After a short break, the shrub puts on a second, slightly more intermittent, flowering display from late summer to early autumn. The Encore series from neat, compact mounds which make them well suited to both borders and containers.Prefers moist, well-drained, acidic soil in full sun (partial shade will be tolerated although it is likely to decrease the plant's autumn flowering potential). H&S: 90cm x 90cm. Hardy, semi-evergreen shrub.
