Tell Me More...
Happy in a sunny or partially shaded spot, these tall, enchanting flowers wave gentle greetings at pollinators and passers-by from summer through to mid-autumn. Adaptable Anemone Collection brings golden centres and stamen surrounded by rippled and ruffled, semi-double petals. Strong, slender stems are held above maple-like, green foliage which emerges in April and is retained until October. Often referred to as the 'windflower' as blooms will gently sway back and forth on the breeze for animated interest. Collection comprises: x hybrida 'Whirlwind' - a semi-double delight with ruffled white petals which reaches a height of 1.2m, with a spread of 75cm; hupehensis var. japonica 'Prinz Heinrich' - intense, almost magenta coloured overlapping petals, reaches 90cm tall and spreads to 75cm; and x hybrida 'Knigin Charlotte' - AGM holder with semi-double flowers in a pretty pastel pink - matures to 1.5m in height with a 75cm spread.Plants in the Adaptable Anemone Collection prefer moist, well-drained soil and all are fully hardy, herbaceous perennials.
