Alluring, aromatic and semi-evergreen foliage releases a sumptuous sage-like scent when brushed or disturbed. Blooming usually from June to November, Salvia add an attractive airy quality to your garden borders and pots. Watch with pleasure as our pollinating friends visit for a feast. Excellent in vases and floral displays and loved by bees and other pollinators. Ideal for planting near a path or seat so the fragrance can be enjoyed whenever the foliage is brushed against.
Collection comprises; ‘African Sky’ – pale blue blooms, height 80cm; × jamensis 'Lemon Light' – yellow blooms, height 75cm; ‘Peach Parfait’ – peachy cream colours are accented by dark calyces, height 90cm; x jamensis ‘Nachtvlinder’ - deep purple, almost velvety blooms, height 75cm; greggii ‘Cool Cream’ – large creamy-white blooms with a slight pink tint, height 80cm; and microphylla ‘Wine and Roses’ - sheer elegance as the rich red and pink blooms climb the flower spires, height 75cm.
Drought tolerant once established, Salvia prefer well-drained soil of any kind but will need extra grit applied if planted in heavy clay. Position in full sun or partial shade where they will spread to 50-80cm.
