History and Origin:

Muscari is a genus of plants within the Asparagaceae family, native to Eurasia. They are commonly known as the ‘Grape Hyacinth’. The use of muscari was first documented in 1601. In 1754, English botanist Philip Miller formally established and named the genus Muscari. The name derives from the Greek word ‘muschos’ meaning ‘musk’, referring to the scent.

Muscari are bulbous perennials with strap-shaped leaves and compact tubular flowers that resemble bunches of grapes during spring and early summer.
