Tell Me More...
An award-winning winter-flowering shrub. Dark pink buds emerge on bare stems before opening to candy coloured, richly scented blooms. Stems are smothered in clusters of flowers making the branches perfect for cutting to add to a vase. In summer, small, rounded purple berries develop followed by a final autumn flourish of vibrant orange and yellow foliage. A hardy, deciduous, mid-sized shrub reaching a height and spread of 3m x 1.8m. To allow for fullest enjoyment of colour and scent, locate in an area frequented often during winter months; perhaps adjacent to an entrance or path. Plant in moist yet well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade.Pruning is a straightforward thinning out of older and weaker branches each year after flowering. Follow this with a generous layer of mulch for a happy, healthy plant that will brighten your winters for years to come.
