Then, in autumn, this is topped off by a sensational autumnal foliage display whereby the leaves turn to shades of scarlet before the plant falls dormant for the winter. Fruits are excellent as a fresh topping to porridge and cereals, scrumptious in muffins and cheesecakes and freezer friendly for inclusion in smoothies, ice-creams and milkshakes throughout the year. Vaccinium corymbosum 'Top Hat' prefers moist, well-drained, organically rich, slightly acidic soil. Locate in full sun or part shade with any aspect other than north-facing.
