Tulipa White Triumphator

There is something quite special about a pure white bloom and Tulip 'White Triumphator' ticks that box and a whole lot more. As it belongs to the Lily-flowered group, this brings an exquisite, fluted goblet shape with softly pointed petals, which reflex, reminiscent of a crown and when planted 'en-masse', it is a sight to behold. A carpet of snow topped peaks swaying in the spring breeze. Combine with darker colours like Caf Noir or Negrita for a dramatic show or team with pastels like Florosa or Mariette for a more romantic feel. Great as a cut flower, just be aware tulips are the only cut flower which keeps growing in the vase, so may need a couple of trims to keep tidy. Plant your bulbs 15cm deep in well-drained soil in sun or part shade between October and December and you can expect flowers in April and May the following year up to 40-60cm in height with a spread of 10-15cm. Tulip 'White Triumphator' has been given the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by the RHS for outstanding performance in the garden and will reliably return for many years to grace your borders.
