Description

The oversized, almost feathery blooms of Tulip White Parrot are dramatic and unusual. You will have a fabulous display in your spring garden borders and pots, with stems that often curl. The large, flamboyant, ivory-white flowers are deeply feathered with green markings and appear to twist and turn as they fully open almost flat in the garden or vase. These reliable, perennial bulbs should be planted in October to December in an area which receives plenty of sunshine. Plant bulbs 15cm deep in moist well-drained soil. Add some grit to the bottom of the planting holes if your planting area has poor drainage and your White Parrot will flower the following spring, reaching a height of around 50cm. Cut stems last for over a week in the vase and look fabulous when added to seasonal floral arrangements or a mixed with other Tulips in contrasting colours and shapes. When cutting, leave some foliage attached to the bulb to allow your plants to photosynthesise and ensure they return in future years.
