Description

Tulip Purple Prince is a single, late variety of tulip which is ideal for more exposed areas of the garden because of its strong flower stems. It blooms in May and flowers grow to a height of 40cm so are ideal for cutting. The large, regal looking bloom is a rich purple colour with beetroot red undertones. The blooms of Tulip Purple Prince are oval-shaped and their deep intensity of colour goes well with vibrant reds for a riotous splash of colour in your borders and containers. Plant in Autumn to a depth of 15cm for flowers the following Spring and allow the grey-green foliage to die back each year before tidying as this will allow nutrients to return to the bulb ready for next Spring's display. A classic shaped, rich and regal purple tulip which should thrive where other tulips have previously been susceptible to damage from poor weather conditions.

T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
