Description

The edges of lipstick-red Tulip Canasta look as though they have been touched by frost and will make this frilled Tulip really stand out in your spring borders and pots. Stems reach up to 40cm tall when this Tulip blooms in April and May. Tulips make wonderful cut flowers, simply beautiful on their own or added to seasonal, floral arrangements. They have an excellent vase life of at least a week if you change the water regularly and trim the bottom of the stems each time. Plant your bulbs 15cm deep between October and December in a spot which receives plenty of sun. Tulips grow well in all soil types if the ground is free draining, if this is not the case then add a layer of horticultural grit to the bottom of planting holes to assist drainage. Tulip Canasta combines well with other spring flowering bulbs and plants, particularly white blooms such as Narcissus Thalia, white Hesperis, and Hyacinthus White Pearl.
