Description

Looking as though it has been lifted from a Dutch Masters painting, Tulip Apricot Parrot is a flamboyant, feathered beauty in glorious shades of apricot, orange, and red. This romantic Tulip adds drama to the garden and graceful charm to the vase. Cut the flowers just as the buds begin to open and refresh the water frequently to prolong their vase life. Be sure to leave some foliage attached to the bulb in the ground to ensure blooms reappear next year. Plant bulbs 15cm deep in moist, well-drained soil between October and December in a spot which receives plenty of sunshine. Grow amongst other spring flowering bulbs where the large, brightly coloured flowers will shine on stems up to 60cm tall in the border or container. Wallflowers, Fritillaria and Narcissi make great growing companions for Parrot Tulips in April and May.
