Description

Believe it or not, tomatoes are not always red. Tomatoes are yellow, pink, purple, black, white and there is even a green striped tomato. The green striped tomato is named - The Green Zebra. This tomato is becoming rare and is now referred to as, 'an all-time classic tomato'. Firstly, the taste has a delicious zest, full of flavour, packed with nutrients, however it is how this fruiting tomato looks which catches the eye. The plant produces a green tomato with dark stripes. As the fruit ripens, the tomato takes on yellow hues and the stripes become orange. This unusual look has made Green Zebra a popular choice with chefs in the top restaurants. Should you wish to grow a rather unique tomato, filled with flavour, used by chefs, then perhaps this year, branch out and grow a Green Zebra.
