Description
Tiarella Spring Sugar and Spice is a new shade loving relative of the Heuchera; grown for their stunning foliage. In our opinion one of the best Tiarella, with neat mounds of shiny leaves, which become heavily patterned with red markings in summer and winter. In spring, a profusion of slender wiry stems rises above the foliage and holds a mass of lightly scented, starry white blooms, with a flush of pink. Low maintenance, Tiarella are happy in both borders and containers, making excellent weed-suppressing ground cover spreading by stolons and naturally producing offsets. These plants can remain undivided for years. Deer and rabbits tend to leave Tiarella alone. Tiarella are woodland plants originating from Asia and Northern America and prefer to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in part shade. Tiarella Sugar and Spice grows to a mature height and spread of 30cm. Tiarella are fully hardy perennials and able to cope with cold weather; you can enjoy for years to come.

How hardy are your plants?
All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.
FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)
WT – Warm temperate – can withstand temperatures between 5-10 °C (41-50 °F)
ST – Sub Tropical – are happy in temperatures between 10-15 °C (50 – 59 °F)
TR – Tropical – can withstand temperatures above 15 °C (59 °F)
Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
