Description

Floaty and airy, Thalictrum will bring a calming, informal mood to help you relax in your garden. As tall stems sway in the breeze, they gently entwine to form an entangled web-like structure. Bees and butterflies seem to love weaving through the structure whilst enjoying the nectar-rich frothy-looking flowers, which provide long lasting summer colour above pretty aquilegia-like foliage. Attractive to bees and butterflies, Thalictrum bloom from June to August, sometimes September. Deer resistant and brilliant as long-lasting cut flowers for a vase within your home. This collection comprises; Black Stockings AGM - nearly black stems hold sprays of purple-pink blooms, height 2m; Splendide - lilac-pink flowers, height 1.2-1.8m; Splendide White - crisp white bloome, height 1.2-1.8m. Thalictrum are said to be named after Thalia, one of the nine Greek patrons of comedy, possibly because of their willowy charm of providing stature whilst remaining elegant. Thalictrum prefer to be gown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade and reach an approximate height of 1.2-2m and spread 60-80cm. Thalictrum are fully hardy perennials, meaning they will thrive outside with no winter protection required for you to enjoy for years to come.
