Tell Me More...
Thalictrum Splendide brings an informal mood to your garden with an light airy feel.Known also as Meadow Rue, Thalictrum Splendide is one of the easiest plants to grow and can be left undisturbed for years, adding often much needed height. Multiple, tall stems sway in the breeze holding many frothy-looking, lilac-pink flowers which seem to float, providing long lasting summer colour above the pretty, bubbly-looking aquilegia-like foliage. Often thought of as a cottage garden favourite, Thalictrum look equally fabulous in most planting schemes where they make an architectural presence.Thalictrum are said to be named after Thalia, one of the nine Greek patrons of comedy, known as Muses, possibly because of the willowy charm of providing stature while remaining elegant.Attractive to bees and butterflies, deer resistant and excellent cut for arrangements within your home. Thalictrum prefer to be gown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade and reach an approximate height of 120cm-180cm and spread 60-80cm. Thalictrum are fully hardy perennials, meaning they will thrive outside with no winter protection required, for you to enjoy for years to come.
