Tell Me More...
The Thankful Thalictrum Collection offers aquilegia-like foliage from March through to November each year for verdant interest in herbaceous borders or containers. From May onwards colourful, open and frothy flowers emerge on strong, dark stems. Commencing with aquilegifolium 'Nimbus White' (the more petite of the trio) followed by aquilegifolium 'Splendide' and flavum 'Tukker Princess' in June. Flowers last through to the end of summer adding an airy grace as stems sway on gentle summer breezes. The taller specimens, 'Tukker Princess' and 'Splendide' have an architectural presence and are best placed to the back of a border, whilst 'Nimbus White' is perfect for containers or the mid-tier of planting. Beneficial to bees, butterflies and other wildlife - these beauties draw their name, Thalictrum, from one of the beautiful Greek muses, Thalia. Flower stems make a wonderful inclusion in vases and bouquets - where their airy grace lends volume; with the AGM holding 'Tukker Princess' also offering a delicate perfume. Plants in the Thankful Thalictrum Collection prefer moist, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Fully hardy and hardy, herbaceous perennials.
